Sometimes, it’s hard to have ambitions, and strive for success,
when you are disconnected, down and feeling depressed.
Try listening to your intuition, meditating, getting plenty of rest.
Your ambition is to heal yourself, just do, and be, your best.

The Other Side of the City

Published March 7, 2016 by sarahphinn

Sleeping bags wrapped around shivering bodies

Sitting in doorways of the city street.

Eyes gazing at strangers passing by

Praying for a few coins, a drink or a bite to eat.

A parallel world that most of us don’t see.

People who are often scared, hungry and alone

No one person is better than another

Everyone deserves a safe and stable place to call home.

Sometimes we put too much pressure on ourselves; I like this by Chelsea Fagan:

Perhaps most of all, though, you deserve to know that a day in which you can just barely get out of bed because you are sad, or sick, or simply not ready to see the outside, is not the end of the world. You deserve to know that moments of weakness do not make you fundamentally weak, only fundamentally human, and that sometimes we’re not going to be effusively happy, and that is okay.s p 496
